The other side of the window

This is one of those images that I absolutely LOVE!  But I must tell you in advance the internet doesn’t do it justice.  Makes it look a little too soft)  It was taken from the outside of the window with Morgan on the inside.  I think it is soft and moody and beautiful.  I plan to try this again with different angles just to experiment with the feel of it.

Playing with a new concept

I recently had the pleasure of hearing another photographer, that I admire very much, speak on her technique and concepts.  She said she studies artists that she likes and relates to and then emulates their style for a session or two then takes it in her own direction.   I admire her honesty and willingness to share the steps she has taken to achieve her own unique look.

I must be honest and disclose that this was strongly inspired by her work.  I don’t normally do this type of thing so I didn’t know where else to start.  I hope to have another opportunity to do this before it gets too cold so I can make it more my own vision.  Wish I’d seen her in March instead of the end of August.  This is pretty weird and out of my comfort zone so I welcome your comments.

On the hunt

Today we decided to jump in the Tahoe and search for ghost towns.  A friend gave me the names of a few places so off we went.  Unfortunately I did not accurately describe what I was looking for and what we found wasn’t really what we wanted.  But we got some cool stuff anyway.  Here are a couple of images.

Blew it

It’s pretty obvious by now that I blew the whole project 365 thing.  I’ve spent the last several months trying to decide what I should do about it.  I came to the conclusion that the blog is called 13th frame not project 365 so i shouldn’t just quit all together.

So even though it isn’t going to be the same as it was before I am going to breathe some new life into this blog.  This will hopefully be more personal work and personal favorites and less commercial or paid stuff.

Before we left Dallas my roomate for the week talked me in to a side trip to Sprinkles.  OH MY HECK!  These are the best cupcakes EVER!

This guy was waiting in line at 6 Flags and just decided since I had a camera, I needed to take his picture.
